Bro. John A Mitchell, a native Texan and raised in the  church of Christ. He was baptized by the late Bro. Roosevelt Sams of the Dellcrest church of Christ.  He has  been preaching for about 25 years.   He has  been under the tutoring of his father (Bro. Asberry Mitchell, Sr.) , his oldest brother ( Bro. Asberry Mitchell, Jr.)and Bro. George M. Williams I, Minister of the East Side church of Christ.  These men have been and still are very instrumental in his life. He is a  graduate of Giddings High School.  He served in the military (U.S Army) for 6 years.  He holds  several certifications … such as Primary Leadership, Counselor in Drug/Alcohol Abuse, Family Counseling,  ITT Tech certified, and in Biblical Studies.  And has also taken classes at the Austin Graduate School of Theology. He is  very sincere about preaching the gospel, teaching and defending the word of God.  And as a faithful defender,  He intends to hold fast the doctrine of Christ and not that of man. He has conducted several gospel meetings, youth conferences and seminars for the youth.  Working alongside of me in the ministry is his faithful wife and high school sweetheart Sis. Lilly Mitchell.  Together they have been serving the Pecan Street church of Christ since 2006.  They have been married for 36 years.  They have three children Jermaine, Aron, Carrington, and a beautiful daughter-in-law, Krishna.
